Frequently Asked Questions

These answers cover the questions we receive most often from travelers planning a safari with Wild Legends Africa.

When is the best time to visit Kenya or Tanzania?

There is no single best month for every traveler. Dry months usually offer easier wildlife viewing, while the green season brings lush landscapes, softer rates in some properties, and excellent photography. If you want to time your trip around the migration, calving season, or a quieter safari pace, we can guide you to the right travel window.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak periods such as July to October, Christmas, and New Year, we recommend booking as early as possible. Popular camps and lodges can fill well in advance. For shoulder and green seasons, lead times can be more flexible, but the best rooms still move early.

Do I need a visa or travel authorisation?

Many travelers need a Kenya eTA and a Tanzania visa or eVisa depending on nationality and routing. Requirements change, so always check the current official immigration websites before departure. We can point you to the correct official channels during planning.

Do I need vaccinations or travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for every guest. Health requirements depend on your route, country of residence, and medical history, so please speak with a doctor or travel clinic before departure. Yellow fever rules and malaria guidance should always be checked close to travel.

Are your safaris private or shared?

Most Wild Legends Africa journeys are planned as private safaris so you can move at your own pace. If you are interested in a small-group option, ask us and we will advise what is available for your dates.

What kind of vehicles do you use?

We use safari vehicles suited to East African game viewing, usually with guaranteed window access and a pop-up roof or equivalent viewing setup depending on the route. Vehicle choice can vary by destination, group size, and road conditions.

What is the accommodation like?

We work across a range of styles, from comfortable lodges to refined tented camps and premium safari properties. The right fit depends on your travel style, budget, and the overall rhythm you want for the trip.

Can you plan family safaris?

Yes. We can help shape family-friendly journeys with the right pacing, room setup, and properties that welcome younger travelers. If you are traveling with children, tell us their ages early so we can recommend the best route and camps.

How much luggage should I bring?

Pack light and use a soft bag where possible. This is especially important if your itinerary includes domestic or bush flights, which often have stricter luggage rules than long-haul airlines. We will send the correct baggage guidance before departure.

Can you arrange special requests?

Yes. We can help with honeymoon touches, private sundowners, birthday surprises, beach extensions, gorilla combinations, or a specific photography focus. The earlier we know, the better we can build it into the plan.

How do payments and booking confirmation work?

Your booking is confirmed once the required deposit shown on your quotation or invoice has been received and availability has been secured. Final payment timing is shared clearly during the booking process.

Is tipping included?

Tipping is usually not included unless stated in your itinerary. We provide practical guidance before travel so you know what is customary for guides, camp teams, and other safari staff.
